Welcome to the University of Toronto Students’ Law Society!

ABOUT US

The Student Law Society (SLS) is the the student government for academic and social affairs at the Henry NR Jackman Faculty of Law.

The SLS represents and advocates for the interests of law students on university policies, including financial aid, mental health and wellness, equity, diversity and inclusivity and more. SLS ensures that student concerns maintain a strong voice in the administration of the school.

The SLS also create spaces for community and connection through social events and initiatives that bring students together outside the classroom.

Throughout the year, SLS organizes a range of programming, including signature events such as Call to the Bar, our weekly social gathering, and signature events like the Annual Winter Law Ball. Through these efforts, SLS aims to build a law school environment where students feel supported, connected, and empowered.

Land Acknowledgement

The SLS wishes to acknowledge this land on which the University of Toronto operates. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.

To learn more about the Land Acknowledgement and why we acknowledge the land, please visit this link. Please also visit the Indigenous Initiatives Office website to learn more about upcoming opportunities to engage and learn.

Stay connected with us as we work hard to keep you informed and updated on UofT Law!
