The Social and Finance Committee is co-chaired by the Vice-President Social and the Vice-President Finance.

Overview

The Social and Finance Committee (โ€œSFCโ€, formerly the Social Affairs Committee) is the financial and event planning branch of SLS. SFC is the student-run component managing the social lifeblood of the school, at events large and small. Marquee events in the year include Oakes Day, Halloween party, Law Ball, free breakfasts, weekly socials and much more! SFC also oversees funding for all student groups at the law schoolโ€”including budgets for lunches and snacks. SFC also works with the SLS Equity Officers to ensure inclusive event planning which takes into account the diverse needs and desires of our community. The Social Committee meets weekly at lunches. All students are welcome to attend and participate in meetings. Tentative agendas will be shared with students in each weekโ€™s SLS Weekly.

If you are a student group representative or if you would like to get a student group off the ground, feel free to contact any member of the Social and Finance Committee and they will get you on your way. You can also contact the SLS generally at studentslawsociety@gmail.com. Check out the SFC reps page for more detail on your representatives.

Students are able to see SFCโ€™s past meeting minutes and financial statements on the Minutes and Financial Statements page.
